True Foundry is helping African founders build sustainable companies and flourishing communities
Too often low-touch training programs and accelerators leave founders with nothing more than a certificate in hand. Mentors often give great advice but don’t have the time to help founders execute with excellence.
Our thesis is that early-stage African founders need deep support over a longer term (years vs. weeks/months) to build profitable ventures that sustain job creation.
Companies served in this way will create more jobs, break even sooner, raise the right capital easier, be resilient to ecosystem shocks, and deliver more profits to local stakeholders. Ultimately, they help local communities to flourish and spur a flywheel of support for future entrepreneurs.
A foundry is a place where founding takes place. We hold a high view of founder influence and believe that founders will impact their communities, shape culture and expand the horizons of what is possible for future generations. We aspire to be that place where founding takes place.
A foundry is also where metal is cast. Like a foundry, the founder's journey includes intense heat and pressure, which when guided by a craftsman and rigid molds transforms the molten metal into a purposeful creation.
